    Description

    Lot of Two Short Military Swords.
    Comprising: 1.) French Model 1831 Artillery short sword. 19-inch double-sided blade with cast brass hilt. Black leather scabbard with brass throat and tip. 2.) U.S. Model 1841 Naval Cutlass. 21-inch double-edged blade. No visible maker's marks. Cast brass hilt with brass guard. The guard is stamped with several property marks, for example "25", "9", "No. 2" and "13". Lacks scabbard.

    Condition: 1.) Good. Some scattered spotting to blade; scabbard leather scuffed a dry with a small hole on the reverse side near the brass tip. 2.) Good. Blade with uniform brown patina. American eagles on the pommel are not very distinct. A few small nicks in the cutting edge.
