    Lot of Two Early 19th Century American Officers' Swords. Including: 1) Early mounted officer's sword with a 29 ½" curved blade which features gilt etched panoplies of arms and floral decoration set against blued panels. Brass hilt with reverse "P" guard, floral decorated bird's head pommel, and ribbed bone grip. The blade bears no maker's marks. The sword is complete with leather scabbard with brass mounts. Leather tip appears to be a contemporary replacement. 1" chip missing from bone grip near the pommel and with a vertical crack running the length of the reverse side of the grip. A beautiful sword in very good condition. 2) Officers' sword with a 30" straight blade lightly etched with gilded floral decoration. No visible maker's mark. Brass guard with reverse "P" guard. Knuckle guard with a flower and bead design. Bone grip. Lacks scabbard. Scattered areas of spotting to the blade, otherwise good condition.
