    Description

    Lot of Two 19th Century U.S. Cavalry Swords. Including: 1) 1860 Enlisted Cavalry Saber, 34 ½" slightly curved blade, Ames marked blade dated 1862. The hilt has been plated at some point. Grip lacking leather and wire wrap. Plated scabbard with scattered shallow dents. Nice example for display. 2) Model 1872 Cavalry saber with a 31 ½" unmarked blade. Decorated brass hilt with eagle motif on the guard, decorated pommel, and rays on the underside of the guard. Hilt slightly loose on the blade. Plated scabbard. Good condition.
