    Lot of Three 19th Century U.S. Swords. Includes: 1) Model 1840 Light Artillery Saber, 32" curved blade marked "US" on the obverse ricasso. Blade displays a smooth, gray patina. Brass hilt, the wire wrap appears to a later addition. Iron scabbard with one mounting ring slightly damaged. An area of light surface rust on the blade; the scabbard with some surface rust, otherwise very good condition. 2) 1860 Cavalry saber, 34 ½" bright, slightly curved blade dated "186[?]". Faint, illegible name stamped on the guard. Complete with scabbard. Blade with overall gray patina and some shallow pitting from scabbard storage, otherwise very good. 3) German-made non-regulation officer's sword with a 32 ½" slightly curved blade maker marked "W. Walsheid / Solingen" on the reverse ricasso and with a brass "Proved" disk inset on the obverse ricasso. Half-basket guard with an eagle and "US" incorporated into the design. Iron scabbard with two mounting rings. Blade dark with some nicks at the edges; scabbard with a few shallow dents. Good condition.
