DescriptionLot of Four U.S. and European Officers' Swords. Including: 1.) German-made Model 1872 Cavalry Officers' sword with a 32 ½-inch slightly curved blade marked made in Germany and with a Pettibone Brothers retail mark. This example with an engraved presentation on the scabbard to "Major Dow. Marcus Fagg / In Loving Remembrance / From Plymouth Joan of Arc Club". Major Fagg was an infamous supporter of eugenics in Florida. Complete with scabbard. 2.) German-made Model 1852 Naval Officers' sword with a 31-inch bright, plated blade marked made in German and with a Hilborn Hamburger retail mark. Complete with sword knot and scabbard. 3.) German Model 1889 Officers' sword with a 28 ½-inch straight blade with an Alex Coppel, Solingen maker's mark. No scabbard. 4.) Spanish Naval Officers' sword with a 29 ½-inch slight curved blade with an 1867 Toledo maker's mark.
Condition: 1.) Sword is in excellent condition; the scabbard exhibits areas of surface rust. 2.) Excellent condition. 3.) About very good. 4.) Very good.
