    Lot of Four 19th Century Swords. Including: 1) 1872 Cavalry Officers' sword, 31 ½" slightly curved bright blade with no engraving or maker's mark. Plated metal scabbard. Very good condition. 2) German made Model 1840 heavy cavalry saber with a 36" slightly curved blade maker marked "C & J" (Clement & Jung). Grip has been recovered (incorrectly). With correct iron scabbard. The blade is lightly oxidized from scabbard storage but is in overall very good condition. 3) Composite 1860 Cavalry saber with a 35" Ames-marked plated blade, with a possible 1868 date. Old GAR gold paint on the hilt. Iron scabbard painted silver. Areas of flaking plating on the blade. Good condition. 4) British 1821 Officers' sword. 33" slightly curved blade marked "W. Walscheid / Solingen" on the reverse ricasso. Iron hilt and wire-wrapped fish skin grip. Iron scabbard with two mounting rings. Scabbard with a few scattered shallow dents, otherwise in very good condition.
