    Iron Mounted Non-Regulation Civil War Officer's Sword By Tiffany & Co. Exceptional, untouched overall condition. 33 1/2" slightly curved blade near perfect. Retains much original luster, with some small areas with very light gray patina, no edge nicks. Etched on the obverse with 6" panel with spread wing eagle , shield and motto surrounded by rays. Also etched in a riband at the base of the blade "Tiffany& Co. / New York". 6" etched panel on the reverse of the blade with large searched block US flanked by intricate scroll and floral work. Etched riband at the base of the blade "Warranted to cut / Wrought Iron" with P. D. L. cartouche on the ricasso. All iron hilt with three outboard branches, pommel with full backstrap and stepped 3/8" ferrule at the base of the grip. The entire hilt is decorated with line engraving around the edges. Hilt overall perfect with very nice dark untouched patina. Sharkskin grip with triple wire wrap also perfect. Iron scabbard with stepped throat also about perfect with nice smooth dark, untouched patina, absolutely no pitting and just a few tiny, really negligible, spots of surface rust. An exceptional untouched example of this scarce form Tiffany Civil War officer's sword.
