    Description

    German Made U.S. Model 1840 Heavy Cavalry Saber.
    35 ½-inch slightly curved, bright blade stamped "R & C" (Rohrig & Cie) on the obverse side. Gilded brass hilt with wire-wrapped leather grips. Retains a brown leather sword knot. Iron scabbard with two carrying rings.

    Condition: About very good. Several light to moderate nicks in the cutting edge; scabbard with a uniform dark patina.
