    Description

    German Cavalry Sword and Diplomatic Sword.
    Including: 1.) German 1788 Pattern Light Cavalry saber. 30-inch curved polished steel blade with wide fullers on either side running to within 5 ½-inches of the point and a false edge running to within 9-inches of the point. With a blued panel extending to nearly the mid-point of the blade decorated with a panoply of arms and other floral designs accented in gilt. Maker marked "C. v. (Christoph von) Keller" on the obverse ricasso; "im Solingen" on the reverse ricasso. Iron hilt with wire-wrapped leather grip. Leather scabbard with metal mounts (center mount loose). 2.) Diplomatic sword, 32-inch straight polished steel blade with simple engraving along the edge. Mother of pearl grips. Gilded-brass hilt with clamshell guard. The guard has a five-pointed star within a wreath. Leather scabbard with gilded-brass throat and drag.

    Condition: 1.) Very good. 2.) About very good. Mother of pearl grip panels cracked under wire wrapping.
