    French M1833 Naval Cutlass and British Pattern 1853 Cavalry Sword.
    Comprising: 1.) French M1833 naval cutlass. 26 ½-inch slightly curved, bright blade with a large anchor etched on the obverse side. Maker marked "Chatellerault" and dated "Mai 1842" on the top edge of the blade. Japanned metal hilt. Leather scabbard with brass throat and tip. 2.) British P1853 cavalry sword. 35 ½-inch slight curved blade, maker marked "Enfield" on the top of the blade. Japanned iron hilt with cross-hatched leather grips. Japanned iron scabbard with one mounting ring.

    Condition: 1.) Very good. The leather of the scabbard is dry and a bit brittle. 2.) Very good. Blade with an overall gray patina; scabbard with uniform pitting.
