    Fine Ottoman Kilij Sword with Historical Importance.
    Slightly curved 29-inch sword with a gold and silver mounted scabbard with multiple sections of repousse decoration. Bone handle with gold accents and studs. Wire wrapped to guard. Consignor states, Sword gifted to Dr. Juan Pablo Perez Alfonzo by King Faisal of Saudi Arabia for assisting with the creation of OPEC (Organization of the Petroleum Exporting Countries) in 1960. Overall length approximately 40-inches with handle included. This sword comes with the following paperwork; A notarized letter from the consignor recapping the history and provenance of the sword in which it states "Juan Pablo's daughter-in-law sold this sword to my father, at his jewelry store named Village Jewelers, 7 years ago. ......I believe the meeting between Juan and Faisal was after the creation of OPEC in 1960, which technically means the King of Saudi Arabia gifted the sword to Juan Pablo when he was still the crown prince and prime minister of Saudi Arabia." Also included, a hand written piece of paper stating, THIS SWORD WAS A GIFT FROM THE KING OF SAUDI ARABIA FEISAL. AFTER THE ORGANIZATION WAS CREATED OPEC "THE ORGANIZATION OF THE PETROLEUM EXPORTING COUNTRIES" 1960. H.M. FEISAL HAS A MEETING WITH MY FATHER LAW. DR. JUAN PABLO PEREZ ALFONSO AND IN APPRECIATION FOR WHAT HE HAS? DONE PRESENT WITH SWORD, BY HIS SIDE WAS ABDULLAH TARIKI and a photograph of HM. King Feisal of Saudi Arabia and Juan Pablo and the book titled Juan Pablo Perez Alfonzo: El Guerrillero Caballeroso by Clemente Cohen Bolet.

    Condition: Good to very good. With storage and handling wear. Gold and Silver with tarnish. Blade with some pitting and areas of surface rust from storage.
