    Description

Eighteenth Century Middle-European Basket Hilt Broadsword. The wide, fullered, straight blade measures 34¼" to the broken tip. The brass hilt features a voided clamshell design. The counterguard and a couple of branches are missing, as well as the leather on the grip. The pommel is unadorned with a flat cap. As mentioned, a small section of the blade tip is broken and the blade has a few areas of surface rust, but is otherwise nicely patinated. This is an interesting sword that warrants further research.
