    Description

Civil War Non-Regulation Foot Officers' Sword With Superb Presentation Grade Decoration.

38 1/2-inches in overall length with a 31-inch blade. Both sides of the blade bear extensive acid-etched designs including a banner with "The Union", panoplies of arms and other foliate scroll designs. The gilded scabbard fittings are lavishly engraved with scroll work including a "U.S.", an eagle and Federal shield and panoplies of arms.

Condition: Very good. The grip has been crudely recovered in brown leather strips; scattered dark spots, fingerprints and light surface rust on the blade.
