    Circa 1825 American Eagle Pommel Sword 28 3/4" bright curved blade with wide shallow fuller, decorated with engraved arms panoplies and floral / scroll work, all retaining much of the original gilt. Retains about 60% of the original fire blue, which terminates in scroll work. Blade is bright with minor smooth dark staining . Hilt overall retains traces of the original silver wash, knucklebow composed of interlocking scrolls, shield shaped langets feature spread wing eagle. Well formed eagle head. One piece carved bone grip exhibiting a few shallow chips at the pommel. The original brass scabbard with decorative engraving at the ring mounts, missing the throat, exhibits a number of dents and two creases each with two small breaks.
