DescriptionA Muromachi Period Nagamaki on a Period Pole.
The Nagamaki blade with 66.8 cm cutting edge, two short hi. Ura with remnants of rain dragon horimono. Complex suguha hamon, mokume hada. 85 cm long nakago is uncut, unsigned and 3 mekigi-ana, one filled with lead. Condition of blade is clean and fair state of polish with some significant tears to skin, specially around worn horimono. 13 cm of nakago have been ground bright in order to remove significant corrosion, the remainder of nakago with typical Muramachi polearm corrosion. Kashi wood pole with cracked eyes lacquer decoration and copper fittings. Newly made black roiro lacquered saya. Pierced iron tsuba with floral design. Easily Nagamakis are rarely found and are a must for any serious collector of Japanese sword.
