The blade with 54 cm cutting edge and thick notare hamon. Exaggerated mokume hada shot through with ji-nie. Ubu nakago with one mekugi-ana signed Inoue Shinkai dated with kiku mon. Condition of blade, in almost full polish with all details visible and some extremely minor spider rust. No kizu. Nagako rates perfect with patination and crisp kiku mon. Gold foil wrapped habaki. In honoki wood shirasaya with sayagaki attesting to authenticity. Shinkai is only one of a handful of shinto swordsmiths awarded the highest rating, sai jo saku in the Fujishiro book. With high grade kante-sho authentication from NTHK.
