    Switchblade Folding Dirk by John Lingard, Sheffield.
    Circa 1850s. 5-3/4" closed switchblade folding dirk with "press-the-small-blade"?opening mechanism. Dagger ground master blade with secondary coping blade, both marked J?LINGARD PEA CROFT?SHEFFIELD, the master additionally marked on the upper bevel REGISTERED?BY?GOVERNMENT?FEBRUARY?9 1850. Stag handle scales with nickel silver trim including foliate guards and floral pommels. Blades appear nearly unsharpened and knife looks completely uncleaned and original. One tiny crack in handle scales, master blade sits up too high when closed. Excellent.
