    Soviet Russian WWII Model 1927 Cavalry Sashka, Dated 1940.
    32-inch slightly curved bright blade with wide fullers on each side extending to within 6-inches of the tip. The blade is dated "1940" on the reverse ricasso with other presumably maker's marks or unit markings on either side of the ricasso. Brass bird's head pommel engraved with "CCCP" and the Soviet hammer and sickle device. Wood grip, brass ferrule in lieu of a proper guard, as was normal for this pattern. Wooden scabbard with brass drag, throat, and mounts. Lacks the Mosin-Nagant socket bayonet that was designed to be carried in special mounts on the scabbard.

    Condition: Excellent. Light spotting to blade due to scabbard storage; scabbard with modest handling wear & minor loss. Lacks socket bayonet as previously noted.
