    Rare Spanish Plug Bayonet Marked Toledo.
    Approximately 9 1/2-inches in length. Ricasso marked FABRICA / DE / TOLEDO. Approximately 5-inch horn handle with basal swell and semi-domed pommel. Beautifully chiseled engraved blade on both sides. "S" shaped crosspiece guard. This plug bayonet and design appears to be possibly from late 18th century into 19th century. Overall length approximately 15-inches. Note: Similar styles and designs can be found on pages 110 and 111 in Spanish Military Weapons in Colonial America 1700-1821.

    Condition: Very good with age wear. A nice grey patina adorns the complete blade with areas of possible cleaning. Some discoloration to handle from handling and wear, handle appears to be two pieces. Throat mount a bit loose.
