    Pair of WWII Japanese Officers' Swords.
    Comprising: 1.) WWII Japanese Navy Officers' Kai-gunto. 25 3/4-inch bright blade with a straight temper line; 36 1/2-inches overall. Bronze tsuba. Cloth-wrapped black ray skin handle with standard three cherry blossom menuki. All other fittings are brass. Scabbard is black lacquered wood in a protective leather cover. Single mounting ring. 2.) WWII Japanese Army Officers' Shin-gunto. 25 1/2-inch blade; 36 1/2-inches overall. Blade with unidentified arsenal mark on the reverse side near the hilt. Open work brass tsuba with standard four cherry blossom design. Cloth-wrapped white ray skin handle with standard three cherry blossom menuki. Lacks scabbard.

    Condition: 1.) Very good. Light scabbard wear and scattered light surface rust. A few small nicks in the cutting edge. Scabbard lacking throat with some loss to the wood in that area. Protective leather cover scuffed and cracked. 2.) Very good. Scattered light surface rust and occasional shallow pitting to blade. Lacks scabbard, as mentioned.
