Pair of Imperial German Swords. Includes a Bavarian officers' sword manufactured by Alexander Coppel with brass "B" guard hilt and wire wrapped grip. The bright, slightly curved blade measures 31½" and is etched with the Bavarian motto: "In Treue Fest" on either side of the blade. The sword is complete with the black metal scabbard. Also included is a Württemberg Model 1889 sword manufactured by Alexander Coppel with brass hilt, folding guard with the Württemberg arms, and wire-wrapped sharkskin grip. The bright straight blade measures 32" in length and has no engraving or etching. This sword, too, is complete with painted metal scabbard. Some loss of paint to the scabbards, otherwise both examples are in very good condition.
