    Pair of Classic and Desirable Sheffield Bowie Knives. The first is 13" in length with a 5 ½" two-piece hardwood handle secured with decorative brass rivets and bolster. The blade is marked "Snake Brand/Sheffield" and etched on the left with the snake logo. It shows overall pitting and is not sharpened. The second is an 1870s Bowie, 16-1/4" in length, marked "Alexander/Sheffield" with a 4" false edge, nickel-silver guard, integral nickel-silver front and rear bolster sandwiched between bone plates. The 11 ½" blade was originally plated in a silver-copper alloy and retains about 40% of its finish.
