    Pair of Civil War U.S. Model 1850 Foot Officers' Swords. Includes: 1) German made, "W. Clauberg / Solingen" marked 32" blade with an "I.C.F. / Deecken / New York" retailer's mark. The blade is ornately etched in floral scroll and military vignettes. Brass hilt in the standard form. Lacking scabbard. Leather grips a bit dry but complete with wire wrap. Blade with a smooth dark patina and a small area of surface rust. 2) Another example with no maker's mark present, 31" etched blade with a blunt tip. The fish skin grip is missing the wire wrap. Blade with a smooth gray finish and with scattered dark spots of surface rust.
