Description
Massive Indo-Persian Axe.Approximately 39-inches in overall length. The Indo-Persian axe has a massive curved steel blade which is 5 1/2-inches deep and approximately 11-inches on the blade point to point. Decorated on both sides of blade and block with finely chiseled work, Arabic inscriptions and highlighted gold koftgari. The mallet/butt has a stylized dragon with an open mouth and movable serpent-like tongue. Twist point measures about 7-inches with great form. The shaft is approximately 29-inches and features a round to octagonal look silver inlays in 3 sections. Overall weight is approximately 5 pounds.
Condition: In overall fine condition, with age wear present. Inlays on shaft are faint. Fine scratches overall due to storage and handling.
