    Description

    Lot of Two Japanese Tanto in Koshirae, One Signed
    Comprising: 1) Having a slightly curved flat 11 3/4" signed blade with traces of a temper line. Silver habaki with diagonal lines on surface. Iron tsuba lightly embossed on both sides with dragon motifs. Matching fuchi & kashira black iron with deeply cut gold horizontal lines. Matching copper seppas. Brown cord-wrapped fishskin grip with fan menuki. Contained in brown lacquered wooden scabbard.

    Condition: Blade is excellent with a few small visible flaws. Grip is rewrapped, menuki are plastic. Scabbard is very good with a mottled lacquered finish, no chips or damage. Missing its kogatana.

    2) Having a slightly curved flat 12 1/2" blade with 4" grooves on each side. Copper habaki. Circular iron tsuba produced with a very rough surface. Four brass and copper seppas. Fuchi is copper with alternating black and silver dots, missing kashira. Fish skin grip. Contained in a blue painted wooden scabbard.

    Condition: Blade is very good bright / gray with areas of dark staining and sharpening. Grip wrap missing, fishskin exhibits losses. Scabbard is recently produced shirasaya painted blue.
