    Description

    Lot of Two African Ethnographic Ceremonial Axes. Comprising two ceremonial or prestige axes from the Pende [Luba] tribe of Zaire or Central Africa. Both examples have carved wooden hafts with figural head motifs. Both have narrow hand-forged blades the penetrate the tops of hafts. Lengths are 15 1/2-inches and 16-inches. Condition: Both are good, showing age wear, pitting to blades, cracks in hafts at blade entry and overall patina.
