    Description

    Ames U.S. Model 1840 Light Artillery Saber.
    32 ½-inch curved, bright blade with wide fullers extending to within 6 ½-inches of the point. Obverse with Ames logo; reverse stamped "US / J. T. / 1861". Gilded-brass hilt with wire-wrapped leather grip. Metal scabbard with two carrying rings.

    Condition: Very good. Blade remains bright with only minor spotting; scabbard lacks throat piece.
