    A Rough-and-Ready Buffalo Runner's Outfit, 1860s - 1870s. 1) Shallow ladle, hand-forged and beaten, for melting and pouring lead; 17 ¾" long. 2) unmarked Sharps-pattern .50 caliber bullet mold with swivel pouring guide and sprue cutter, 6 ¼". b. Steer horn powder horn, walnut cap, copper staple for strap, 10 ½". 3) Half-cylinder shaped wooden block, crudely wrapped with leather, with 44" belt and iron buckle, slotted for six knives. The knives are highlighted by an 11" butcher knife with nickel-silver bolster, full tang, and a 6 ½" blade marked "J Russell & Co/Green River Works." 4) Display of cartridge cases, lead bullets, and knife fragments from the 1870s found on the Rath Trail in the Texas Panhandle.
