    Michael Price-Style San Francisco Bowie Knife by Sornberger. 5 1/2-inch spearpoint blade with ricasso marked: J. SORNBERGER/VOLCANO, CA. Roped, oval silver guard. Gold quartz grip with fine engraved silver and gold border. Contained in matching and period correct silver scabbard with integral long belt hook. Engraved scabbard with California grizzly bear above vacant shield escutcheon.

    Jim Sornberger is a talented long-time maker located in Volcano, California. He made his first knife in 1970 and specializes in San Francisco-style and collectible straight knives. He has made a wide range of styles using a wide range of materials. He is known for his use of gold quartz, He forges his own Damascus blades and does his own carving and engraving. Jim's knives have won the best in show at California knife shows.

    Condition: Fine.. Small dent at top of grip. Scattered fine scratches to scabbard.
