Lot of Two Continental Officers' Swords. Including: 1) German made officers' sword with a 31" straight blade lightly engraved with panoplies of arms and other floral decoration. Maker marked "K & S" on the obverse ricasso and "Solingen" on the reverse ricasso. Brass hilt with wire wrapped grip. Very similar in form to a British 1786 Pattern officers' sword. Retaining a small portion of the leather scabbard. Very good. 2) Another example of similar form with a 32 ½" straight, unmarked blade. The blade is just slightly wider than the previous example, measuring just over 1" at the hilt. This example, like the previous, has fixed clamshell counterguards. Lacks scabbard. Blade with a dark patina nicks on the both edges of the blade. Good condition.
