    Lot of Three U.S. Swords Circa 1847-1918. Including: 1.) Model 1913 "Patton" Cavalry sword with a 35-inch straight, bright blade made by L. F. & C. and dated 1918. Compete with scabbard and what appears to be a non-regulation brown leather hanger marked "Henderson-Ames". 2.) German-made non-regulation Staff and Field Officers' sword presented to 2nd Lieutenant William J. Campbell. 32-inch slightly curved blade with engraved "U.S." and other foliate decoration. W. Clauberg, Solingen maker's mark on the reverse ricasso and F. Jahn, Philadelphia retailer's mark on the obverse ricasso. Complete with sword knot. Scabbard is engraved on the upper mount "Presented to / Wm. J. Campbell / 2nd Lieut. U.S.I.". 3.) U.S. Model 1840 Light Artillery saber with a 32-inch curved blade marked N. P. Ames and dated 1847 on the obverse ricasso. Complete with iron scabbard and rare buff sword hanger straps.

    Condition: 1.) Excellent. 2.) Very good with traces of gilt remaining on the hilt, blade with modest storage wear. Scabbard complete but there is a dent affecting the inscription on the upper mount and the lower mount is loose and leather dry. 3.) Very good with some age spotting to both the blade and scabbard.
