    Description

    Lot of Three U.S. Model 1833 Dragoon Sabers. Including: 1) The first example with a 33 ½" slightly curved blade and brass hilt. Naïve etching on the blade obscured by uniform light pitting. Leather wrapping absent from wooden grip; later attempt at restoration of the wire wrap. Lacks scabbard. Fair condition. 2) Another example with a 34" blade, lightly engraved and dated (illegible). Smooth grey patina with scattered spotting and light nicks to cutting edge. Inspector marked "WS" on the quillion. Leather and wire wrap intact. Complete with scabbard which displays some surface rust and shallow dents. Very good. 3) Ames manufactured example with 34" bright blade dated 1837. Wood grip a later replacement. Lacks scabbard. A nice blade in excellent condition.
