David Mamet's Notes: Here please find various knives which I used, collected, or had been given to me. I was once rather ill for a long period, and had before I got knocked off my feet, bought a knife collectors magazine to research something or other for writing. It featured an article on custom knifemakers and many of their ads. In bed I wrote to them and collected their catalogues and bought, and then traded, many of their knives. I got interested in knife collecting and here please find a bunch of them.

We had a wonderful time in New York during the October 2013 Historical Manuscripts auction that featured my mother’s papers collected during her tenure as Martin Luther King, Jr.’s secretary. In fact, the entire experience from beginning to end has been a pleasure.
