Large Confederate D-Guard Bowie Knife. Unquestionably Confederate and a form we have encountered before. 20" overall with 15 1/4" blade, 1 7/8" at widest point narrowing at the base to a pen knife like 1 1/8" wide ricasso. Squared off D type guard with flattened disc pommel incorporated with the pean. Arrow shaped quillon. The one piece wood grip, which appears to be hickory was apparently cleaned at some point as some spots along the edges still show the original deep dark patina. All iron with dark untouched patina and light to generally medium pitting scattered overall. As is typically the case with Confederate knives it remains sharp as a razor. Good representative example of this uniquely Confederate weapon.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
