DescriptionUnmarked First-Rate Mid-19th Century Bowie Hunting Knife,
15-5/8" long with 10" clip-point blade, "scalloped" spine, iron guard and steel front and rear bolsters on a staghorn handle. The accompanying scabbard is 10-7/8" black leather with steel guide and tip and steel belt loop. This knife is pictured on page 180 of volume E-K of the Encyclopedia of Buffalo Hunters and Skinners and is identified as having belonged to George Kennedy. See lot 40009 for more information.
Condition: Very good with light pitting and some rust on scabbard fittings.
