    Description

Three Handsome Forged Bowie Knives, all unmarked and ca. 1870s. All show signs of real use as hunting and skinning knives, and all are formidable weapons. a. Long (16 ½") staghorn gripped knife with steel fittings and a 5 ½" sharply-honed false edge on an almost 11" blade. b. Big knife with a slightly curved back and trailing point, a bone handle with an iron bolster and single rivet. Overall 15-3/8" with 10" blade. c. Stag- handled knife with clip point blade, 3 ½" sharpened false edge and pronounced finger guard. The pommel and front bolster appear to have been originally japanned. All three knives are tight, but all show overall rust and some pitting.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
