    Lot of Two Assorted Antique English Bowie Knives with Scabbards. Comprising: 1) Antique English Dagger Style Bowie Knife and Scabbard. Having a tapered 7-inch steel dagger blade, the left side marked: V[crown]R/Joseph Rodgers & Sons/Cutlers to Her Majesty. Brass crossguard with ball finials. Octagonal one-piece grip with simulated tortoiseshell covering. German silver ferrule with molded sides. Ribbed German silver pommel cap with slotted finial. Contained in original period scabbard with simulated tortoiseshell covering and German silver mounts with belt clip. 2) Antique English Cutlery Hilt Bowie Knife and Scabbard by Edward Barnes. Having an 8 5/8-inch clip-point blade, the left side etched: The United States/The Land of the Free/And The/Home of the Brave/Protected by Her Noble and Brave/Volunteers. Flat German silver crossguard of ovoid form. Cutlery hilt with scrolls and American eagle. Original scabbard of brown leather, stamped with floral scrolls with orange and green painted panels. German silver mounts. Condition: 1) Fine. Showing light age wear and patina. Scabbard with wear and scuffs. 2) Very good. Blade showing light wear with minor spotting and pitting present. Hilt very good with light patina. Scabbard with wear and scuffs.
