    Lot of Two Assorted Antique English Bowie Knives with Scabbards. Comprising: 1) Antique English Camp Knife Bowie by H. Barber, Sheffield. Having a 7 ¾-inch spear-point blade, the left side etched with the legend: XLNT BOWIE KNIFE. Ricasso marked: H. Barber's/Patent/Sheffield. Hilt with split German silver bolsters/crossguard with integral grip and pommel. Hilt with horn gripscales which are notched to match inner German silver elements. Contained in what appears to be the original olive pasteboard scabbard with stamped and gilt legend: XLNT/BOWIE KNIFE. German silver throat. Belt stud missing. 2) Antique English Bowie Knife by Manson, Sheffield. Having a 6-inch spear-point blade, the lower edge of left side of blade etched with legend: A Sure Defence [within a riband with floral scroll background] Ricasso marked: MANSON/SHEFFIELD. German silver crossguard with integral bolsters. Rosewood gripscales, the left side inlaid with a vacant German silver escutcheon. Contained in an associated brown leather scabbard itself containing an antique leather scabbard with German silver mounts. Condition: Both knives are fine to excellent, showing age wear and patina to blades. Hilts are very good to fine, No. 1 with minor worm damage to horn, No. 2 with minor shrinkage cracks in scales which are stable. No. 1 scabbard with heavy wear to sides and tip. No belt stud. No, 2 scabbard with scuffs and wear.
