    Lot of Two (2) Ken Steigerwalt Custom Made Folders.

    Comprising: 1) Approximately 8 1/2-inches overall. This lockback knife is also marked KAS on ricasso and the blade measures approximately 4-inches with nail nick. Nice stainless steel filework present to tang and backspacer. One piece nickel silver handle and bolsters, abalone and black Mother of Pearl accents on both sides. 2) Approximately 6 1/2-inches overall. This lockback knife is also marked KAS on ricasso and the blade measures approximately 3-inches. Nice stainless steel filework present to tang and backspacer. Nickel silver bolsters and liners. Appears to have burlwood scales with steel pins.
    Note: According to research, Ken has been making knives since 1981. Primarily makes pocket knives with a lockback or front lock mechanism. He won 11 Blade show awards in 7 consecutive years from 2002 to 2008 including 2 best folder awards, one best folder of the year, 3 best handle designs.
    Important: We reached out to Ken Steigerwalt about this lot and this is what he had to say after seeing photos, "I did make these two knives in the mid 1980s, The blades are 440C steel, liners and bolsters are Nickel Silver. The inter frame has abalone and black pearl inlays. The other knife has Desert Ironwood."



    Condition: 1) Very good, with very light noticeable storage and handling wear, fine scratches overall. Light flaking / oxidation spots present to handle areas primarily near Mother of Pearl edges, as well as some toning and some tarnish throughout. 2) Good, noticeable toning / spots to top of blade when closed from poor storage. Fine scratches and wear throughout. Well made KAS knives, need some expert TLC. Still a great set of KAS knives, worth investing on.
