    Folding Bowie Knife by Congreve
    Circa 1830-1837. 7-3/8"?closed lockback folding bowie knife marked W(crown)R C CONGREVE?PATENT. Dagger ground blade, with lengthy pyramidal tang. Horn handle scales with shield on obverse, nickel silver trim with file-work bolsters and leaf motif pommels. Blade is slightly short, patch in the reverse side handle. Very good.
    A large folding self-defense knife of unusual form, quite early and by a very desirable maker.
