    Cutlery Hilt Bowie Knife by Joseph Allen & Sons Sheffield.
    11-inch clipped point blade with ricasso marked: NON-XLL/JOSEPH ALLEN&SONS/SHEFFIELD. Ovoid German silver guard with finials. Fine and unmarked silver cutlery grip. Overall length: 16 1/4-inches. In 1883 Joseph Allen & Sons acquired the "NON-XLL" mark from Unwin & Rodgers which he stamped on his cutlery. A lot of Allen's knives were exported to America.

    Condition: Fine. Blade with a smooth, blue-gray age patina and scattered small patches of fine pitting. Signs of having been cleaned or polished. Guard and grip fine with age wear and patina.
