8 1/4-inch clipped point polished steel blade which is marked: A.K. DANIELS/TOWN CREEK, AL. Oval steel crossguard. Banded horn grip panels retained by 8 stainless steel pins. Contained in mid-19th century-style black leather scabbard mounted in German silver, the throat with belt stud.
Alex Daniels' knife making dates to 1963. He makes all of his knives by hand including the heat treating. While he makes various types of fixed blade and folders, his specialty is reproductions of older Bowie knives. He has been a member of the Knifemakers' Guild since 1982.
Condition: Blade excellent. Grip with light crackling.
