    C. 1850 Silver Mounted Sheffield Folding Knife. 11" overall with blade open, the blade being single edged and 5" long. Marked on the obverse "REGISTERED BY GOVERNMENT / FEBRUARY 9 1850 No 2180." Maker mark on the ricasso difficult to discern because of the bolster but "Sheffield" very clear. Blade excellent with just smooth gray patina, no rust, pitting or nicks. The 1" X 1 3/4" silver bolster decorated with embossed scrollwork. Some minor damage to the 5" horn plaque grip at the top and missing a 1 1/8" long inlay in the center. There are two 1/8" German silver silver circular inlays. The reverse with identical bolster and plain horn plaque grip perfect. There is another 2 1/2" blade that folds out. The spring loaded locking mechanism is in place and pressure on the small blade will release the locking mechanism. Very nice scarce 'folder' with just some very minor damage.

From the estate of Houston collector Brent Burg.

The pre and post sales experience was wonderful and flawless. Heritage has the best in-house operation I have ever seen and their people are not only professional but fun to work with, especially Steve C.

As for Heritage's online system… Yes the interface is more complex than what we are used to with SAN but what is behind that interface is amazing for sellers and buyers alike. It is real time and for a real serious auction buyer there is nothing better in the auction industry, bar none.
