    Description

    Japanese Naval Prison and Shore Patrol Sword. 25 ½-inch slightly curved blade; 32-inches overall. Gilded-brass hilt with anchor insignia on the back strap near the pommel. Leather grip with wire wrapping. Leather sword knot used as knuckle bow. Plated metal scabbard with similar anchor insignia on the lower obverse side. Two mounting rings.

    Condition: Very good. Blade with light spotting and modest scabbard wear. Traces of gilt remaining on hilt. Scabbard with a uniform layer of light surface rust.
