    Imperial German Model 1871 Artillery Dress Bayonet.
    18.75-inch straight bright blade lavishly etched on the obverse "2. Kurrhess. Feld-Artill-Rgt. No 47" accented with crossed cannons, floral design and mounted officer. The reverse is likewise ornately etched with a field artillery gun and limber drawn by a squad of mounted riders, the tableau surrounded by floral designs. The bayonet has a "WK&C" makers mark on the obverse ricasso, and a "G. Forsch, Cassel" distributor's mark on the back of the blade. The one-piece brass hilt features a bird's head pommel and the grip is grooved on one side and smooth on the other. The reverse guard is unit marked "Gleim. 6 . 47". The brass throat of the scabbard is marked the same way. The leather scabbard is complete with brass tip and throat.

    Condition: Excellent. An attractive version of this late-19th Century Imperial German walking out bayonet.
