    German Folding Bowie Knife by F. Herder, Solingen. Having a 13 1/2-inch clip-point blade marked near the back edge: F. Herder Abr. Sohn/[spade] Solingen [crossed keys]. Two-piece folding slightly recurved quillon crossguard. Blade release lever. Stag grip panels held by five steel rivets. Left panel with oval German silver blade release button. Contained in original form-fitted leather scabbard with snap closure/belt loop and German silver tip with ball finial. Snap with floral decoration. Overall length when open: 18 1/2-inches.
    Condition: Good to very good. Tip slightly dulled. Blade with scattered patches of fine pitting and light scratches. Blade release lever bent. Blade spring slightly loose. Scabbard very good with light to moderate scuffs. Tip loose with dents and a split.
