French Made Civil War Era U.S. Model 1850 Foot officers' Sword Manufactured by Klingenthal Coulaux & Cie. 30 ½" slightly curved, bright blade etched with a non-standard pattern of floral scroll, crossed flags, crossed cannon, flying eagle, fasces, and other patriotic vignettes. The top of blade bears a Klingenthal maker's mark. Gilded-brass hilt and wire-wrapped fish skin grip. Sold mated with an Ames manufactured scabbard. The hilt retains approximately 25-35% gilding and the blade has some small scattered dark spots. The leather scabbard is modestly crazed but is otherwise sound. Undoubtedly a nice import variation of the dependable Model 1850 Foot Officers' sword.

This was my first time dealing with an auction house, and I am 100% completely impressed with Heritage. There is not an aspect of this process that I have a critique for.
