    European Dagger with Etched Blade.
    11 1/2-inch etched and tapered blade. Panel depicting Balaam and the Angel from Old Testament in wooded scene with castle in background. Legend reads: DIE EFELIN REDT/MIT BILEAM/MDXXIV. Reverse decorated with trumpet vine scrollwork and beasty figurals. Straight steel guard with scaled serpent motif. Wire-wrapped grip of faded leather or linen surmounted with fine wire thread. Etched and faceted pommel with rounded pommel cap.

    Condition: Very good to fine. Well-preserved. Small dent to tip. Losses to grip. Light wear. Age patina.
