    Early 18th Century Scottish Hilt Broadsword. 39 1/2-inches overall, with 33-inch blade. The blade utilizes three narrow deep fullers in the center, the longest of which, the central fuller, is 12-inches. Blade is 2 1/8-inches wide at the base and is marked just above the central fuller with a rudimentary line drawing of a running animal with an eye. Basket constructed of pieces forged together. Piercings with elaborate hand cut decoration on the edges, heart shaped piercing underneath on each side. Two branches at the back extend down 1-inch onto the blade. Dome shaped pommel constructed without capstan with incised line decoration. Leather grip with twisted brass wire wrap.
    Condition: Very good. Blade smooth and grey with very light salt and peppering. Interior of the basket with deep dark patina, the exterior light grey with minor patches of salt and peppering. Leather grip is very good.
