    4-inch polished ATS-34 steel, drop point blade marked: J. SORNBERGER/[bowie knife]/VOLCANO, CAL. Sornberger floral engraved 416 stainless bolster. Stabilized redwood burl grip panels retained by 4 stainless steel pins. Left panel with disc reading: KNIFEMAKERS' GUILD/25/YEARS. The knife was made in 1995, 25th year of Knifemakers' Guild.

    Jim Sornberger is a talented long-time maker located in Volcano, California. He made his first knife in 1970 and specializes in San Francisco-style and collectible straight knives. He has made a wide range of styles using a wide range of materials. He is known for his use of gold quartz, He forges his own Damascus blades and does his own carving and engraving. Jim's knives have won the best in show at California knife shows.
